Saturday 10 – Saturday 17  October 2020

A week long exploration of yoga beyond just physical postures.

If you would like to gain a better understanding of the principles of yoga this week might just be for you.

Perhaps you are interested in raising your awareness of some of the terms you have heard?

Or maybe you would like to actually learn the basics well so you can be more confident in your practice?

This week together has been designed to leave you feeling more confident and aware of how yoga actually works and why we do certain things in a yoga class.  There will be plenty of time for discussion and absolutely no judgement!

Foundations of Yoga is not a teacher training programme.  It is an educational and practical yoga retreat with a purpose. It is about building your yoga on solid foundations!

What is Foundations of Yoga?

Welcome Home

Llwynceubren is situated in Howey, just outside Llandrindod Wells.  It offers understated quality self catering accomodation.  The Farmstead thatched cottage dates back from the 13oos.  It’s barns and milking parlour annex, known as Cariad Home, are newer additions and filled with character.  We can offer you log burners, wood beams, views from every window, quality linen and china.

Your accommodation

The Milking Parlour is a self-contained annex with kitchen and bathroom, a single bedroom and a double bedroom.

Our practice space will be in Pole Barn, which sits next to the parlour.  This newly re-built timber framed barn offers an additional bathroom and kitchen with double bedroom.  Beautifully fitted and furnished it is light and airy, and will make a perfect studio space for our ‘inside time’.  It offers elevated views over the valley and jaw dropping sunsets.

Low-light polution means star gazing is a feast for the soul, with moon-bathing always an option on bright moon nights!

Extra Info

At our Welcome Circle you will be given a manual to accompany our daily sessions.  The aim of this manual is to help support our time together and provide a reference book when you return home.

Additional Reading

Your time here will be supported by a list of suggested additional reading which you will be given at time of booking.  Of course, you do not have to do this reading!  It may be that you bring the books with you as the subjects may come up over the course of our discussions.  There is no pressure.

If the weather allows we will take our mats and manuals to the hillside behind the farmstead. It is possible (depending on group size and weather!) for us to also head over to the Elan Valley or another local beauty spot for a trip on at least one of the days. There is no pressure to come if you would rather do other things with your free time!

Therapies and Additional Services

If you would like to book a massage, reflexology, crystal healing or holistic treatment please let me know. I can recommend a number of local practitioners and may be able to arrange for one of them to come to us if you would like.  Subject to availability.

About Charlotte:

Having taught both physical and on-line classes, workshops, courses and retreats I am offering these Foundations of Yoga breaks as a way of introducing you to the building blocks of a full yoga practice.  Everything we cover will be accessible for beginners.

This work is the best thing that ever happened to me.  I am passionate about sharing it with you.

Yoga for me has always been about much more than the physical postures.  Often when we only have an hour (on a good week!) to go to a class so much of the depth of yoga is touched lightly.  The breathing exercises, meditation and philosophy has proved invaluable to my resilience and wellbeing.

For over a decade now I have explored a daily practice that is now a lifestyle.  I am committed to sharing these tools and practices with you in a safe and enjoyable way.

If you would like to know more about me and my training please visit the “Meet Charlotte” page in the menu.  Or, why not get in touch?!
